This is a wonderful place to live. When I moved here with my family in 1969, the phone book had three pages dedicated to Parksville numbers and it was a one street light town. I attended junior and senior High School here. My husband and I have two great daughters. We did moms and tots, pre-school, elementary, middle and high schools here. Our children are very lucky to have such great sports, dance and recreation programs.
Through the years we have been curlers and bowlers, my husband has played in many ball leagues. Fishing and camping are so easy - you can go back and forth to work from the campground when the weather is too nice to come home. Before becoming a real estate professional I worked for local politician and chartered accountant, Anton Kruyt. My husband is an electrician, and has also spent 30 years with the volunteer fire department, having served as deputy chief for 12 of those years. Our roots in this community run very deep. A big part of my community contributions involve working with the SPCA and regularly sponsoring ads for animals that need homes. As a result I've become well known as "the pet lovers realtor".

Prior to entering the real estate field, I enjoyed a career in the Coastal Logging Industry, working for 13 years as a heavy-duty mechanic. I 'pulled wrenches' on all types of logging equipment and worked in so many isolated camps from Tofino to the Queen Charlottes that I've forgotten half their names! The logging industry took a financial dive in the early 80's so I packed up my tools and Stanfields and looked for greener pastures. So how does one go from 'Grease monkey' to 'realtor'...? Hmmm.....
My talent for real estate was a natural progression from my community involvement with service clubs and local minor sport groups. I realized that I could combine the 'yacking' part of fund raising with the 'working' part of mechanics and create a new me. Voila! La Realtor. Well, 19 years later I'm still going strong. I've had the good fortune to be awarded the top sales award from the Real Estate Board (Medallion Award) as well as National Sales Awards including Royal LePage Gold and Sutton Platinum awards. Over the past decade and a bit I've sold hundreds of homes and properties in a very professional and caring manner.
My best strengths are my ears and my heart. I listen and I am truly receptive to my clients individual needs. I simply treat everyone the way I would like to be treated in a similar situation.
